What He Did

"I will tell of the kindness of the Lord, the deeds for which He is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us…."  Isaiah 63:7

I want to tell you of God's recent kindness to us.  The way He showed us His Love, and that He was listening to our prayers and our hearts.

My daughter Isabel has music inside her.  She definitely has a gift, a dormant talent that has not had much opportunity to develop.  She started singing when she was one and a half, and has never stopped. When she was three, she watched as her brothers went to their weekly piano lessons.  The next year she again watched them learn piano, and was again told that she was too young to get lessons.  The year she learned to read, the magic year she was old enough to take lessons, the borrowed piano moved away - back to it's owner.  She was heartbroken.  She has begged for piano lessons every year since.

Last fall, we finally felt we had enough time and energy to get her going with piano lessons.  The arrangement was that she walked two buildings over to the piano teacher's apartment (wife of a seminary student), and that she would use their piano to practice each day while they were gone.  She was able to take lessons for three and a half glorious months.  The piano teacher confirmed that she is a very musical person, a natural.

But… all the piano playing exacerbated a problem with her wrist.  We finally took her in to the doctor, only to discover she had a congenital defect that presents itself in adolescent girls during the period of rapid long bone growth - the only fix being surgery.  So she had her surgery last December, and since her wrist had to be in a cast, piano lessons came to a screeching halt.  Then her teacher had a baby and moved away.

Ken and I knew that this child needed to make music, she needed a piano.  And so we began to ask the Lord for a piano.  We specifically asked for a free piano.  We had heard of a friend getting a piano off of Craigslist for one cent.  Maybe God would provide one for us too.  He knew our hearts, He heard our prayers.

And this

arrived
to our daughter's great delight last week!

FREE!

We have been thanking God daily for this gift.
And share this with you as a memorial of God's kindness.

Thanks be to God.

Now, to get the piano tuned, and to find a new teacher….
