The love of God is wide and long and high and deep - it surpasses knowledge. The mercy of God is rich - full of compassion for those who turn to Him. The grace of God is vast - redeeming this broken world. The peace of God is powerful - it gives hope. The Son of God is Jesus - who rescues us from the ultimate penalty of our sin, and offers everlasting life to all who believe in Him by faith.

Christmas Eve Traditional Fare
Frito Pie!
Mmmmmmmmmm!
Because Christmas falls on a Sunday this year,
and we've got to get this train moving and into
church bright and early by 10:00 :-)
we decided to open presents on Christmas Eve.
The most important people in town were gathered
in our living room with expectant hearts and smiles.
Jesus was the greatest gift that God sent,
and then the Wise Men, who were very wise,
gave gifts,
and so these important people that you see
below in the picture
are VERY excited that the tradition continues.
This whole gift giving situation is
"lit!"
as one of my teenagers would say.
(I'm informed that "lit" is the new "awesome".)
How did we get so lucky to also have
assembled in our humble abode
the most important animal in town as well?
Fox, the kitty cat,
joined in the festivities!
And made his rounds among the important people
assembled for the evening.
Youngest first!
At two, J's got this
present opening business!
Let's zoom in on that face
Cuh-yooooooot!
Okay.
Now THIS
is fun to watch.
Tears.
Tears of joy after the anticipation,
hope,
and wish of a certain, parTICular item
would be wrapped and under that tree.
Days and days of
counting down the days till Christmas.
And then,
Dreams sometimes really dooooooo come true!
This adorable kid, after opening said $20 craft kit,
mumbled over and over again the rest of the night,
"This is the best Christmas EVER!!!"
How cute is that?!!! My mamma's heart sings.
The beautiful young lady in the picture below
somehow managed to escape being photographed
while she opened gifts, that sly little lady.
So here is a picture of her assisting others,
while wearing a item that she opened previously
that she says she REAAAAAALLLY likes.
(Another win for mom! :)
Oh yeeeeaaaahhhh, baby!
Kid loves bluetooth feature
(which he can't use until he turns sixteen
and is allowed to get a cell phone...)
Mom loves alarm clock feature
which will enable child to get himself
up on time on school mornings!
Don't you people DARE repost this picture.
I'd be in the doghouse.
But
this,
THIS,
is
what
I
love
about
this
kid!!!!!
What about the parents?
Did they get presents this year?
Yeah!
We got some sweet gifts,
including a collage from Alaina,
as well as some scarves that she made!
And,
from my amaaaaazing hubby,
I got some sparkling earrings!
Also featured in the background,
you will see glasses of
eggnog.
Why aren't these glasses empty???
Egg nog is the one of our family's FAVORITE holiday beverages!!!
Welp, when Ken went to purchase
it on Christmas Eve,
(cause the lady of the house forgot to put it on her grocery list)
they were sold out!!!!
The man at the store claimed that the dairy
made 60% more eggnog this year than last year,
and they just couldn't keep it on the shelves.
All they had left was Fat Free,
so Ken HAD to buy it.
What's Christmas Eve without Egg Nog?
So he also bought Half N Half to add to it,
then added a little nutmeg to help the flavor out
a little bit. (It tasted all right when it first hit your tongue,
but then it had a bubble-gummy, minty aftertaste...)
Ummmmmmmmm.
Wellllll,
Nice try, honey.
But.....
it's
disgusting. :)
Simply,
having,
a wonderful Christmas time! dah dah duh dah, dah, dah!
(one kid liked the Egg Nog)
Ahhhhh,
I've got to get off this computer
and on to
getting this family
to church on time.
Merry Christmas Everybody!
