The 4th?

It was one of the lamest Fourth of Julys in recent history for our family.  We spent the morning wandering around the house coughing on each other.  (We have been fighting a nasty virus for a week now.  The symptoms we've been battling include but are not limited to: coughs, sore throats, runny noses, goopey eyes, fevers, and head aches.  Not fun!)  For dinner we had a yummy outdoor BBQ in the midst of an aggressive swarm of gnats.  Attracted to Jackson's snot, the gnats were crawling all over his poor little face.  He reminded me of a picture from National Geographic.  I kept shooing them away, but like I said, we were picnicking amidst hundreds of the little buggers.  After dinner, too tired/sick to make it to a fireworks display, we snuggled down with Kleenex and a patriotic movie that with my stellar forethought checked out from the library on Friday - The Lion King.  Then we went to bed, with plenty of tylenol and mucinex in our systems.  Oh yeah and today, Sunday, we got to add a new symptom to our repertoire - hives!  Now we've got benedryl on the counter to boot!
