When the Compassion Experience was in our city,
we went through it and were impacted by what we saw.
Like many of you, we sponsor a Compassion Child.
Stepping into "his world" and seeing what he sees, and hearing what he hears,
did two things.
It helped us to better understand how to pray for the boy we sponsor.
(Not that we could ever fully "get" it after just one hour, but it was tremendously helpful.)
Secondly, it helped us to recognize the ways in which we often covet, and to
be more thankful for the things God has given us.
Below are some signs that were hanging in the waiting area.
(Below: "We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry,
naked and homeless.
The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for
is the greatest poverty."
-Mother Teresa)
If you hear of the Compassion Experience coming to your area,
we recommend that you take the time to go. You'll be challenged!
