A Happy Halloween!

What a great night!  We have never had a Halloween as fun as this one.  Our new neighborhood knows how to do it right!  All up and down the street there were houses with bonfires in their driveways, lit pumpkins, candles - even candlelit chandeliers hanging from trees, orange string lights, and lots of grown-ups dressed up to walk their kids up and down the streets.  We had over 50, maybe closer to 100 trick-or-treaters come to our door.  And in this city, it is customary for each trick-or-treater to tell a joke to get a piece of candy.  How fun is that?!  Here are a few that we learned from the kids who came to our door:

What is Darth Vader's wife's name?     (Ella Vader)
What is a Mummy's favorite music?    (Rap Music)
How come they couldn't tell the two witches apart?   (Because they couldn't tell which witch was which)

Awww.  Cute baby owl

Cheshire Cat

The Queen of Hearts

Scary Dragon

Alaina telling her joke to get candy from our neighbor.
Her joke of the night was -
Which ghost can dance the best?  (The Boogie Man)

The police even drove down the street handing out popcorn

And who was at our door handing out candy?
Miss America!

Some of the trick-or-treaters even tried out our new swing.  :)

Jackson plopped down on a neighbor's doorstep
to take a candy break.

  1. LOVE! What a wonderful community! Very cute trick or treaters and I love the tradition of telling jokes. I couldn't help but be a little jealous of Jackson in his flip flops and Ken in his t-shirt - we had rain. :(
